On a Gray Day...

Yesterday's weather wasn't breathtaking, so I decided to go somewhere that would be full of color even with gray skies- the Botanical Gardens.

The Natural History Museum is on the grounds of the garden. It is made up of the Geological and Zoological buildings.

The Geological Museum was a good test of my Norwegian! There were some pretty exquisite samples.

The Zoological Museum had a intriguing exhibit titled "Can We Forgive Darwin?" which examined what the theory of Evolution really means, and how it has been misunderstood and misrepresented throughout history.
This beast was part of a display in the children's section of the Zoological Museum. The exhibit took a playful look at natural selection and evolution.

The gems of the garden were the two greenhouses. Although they were small, they were warm and had a myriad of "climate zones" displaying tons of different plants.

Despite cloudy skies, the rain held off for the entire day, and the outing was a great one. I'll be sure to return to that greenhouse mid-winter!
